Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of National Programs serves as a crucial member of the leadership team, actively contributing to strategic decision-making processes that shape the trajectory of the 100. The Director is entrusted with the responsibility of establishing the strategic direction for international programs, remaining deeply engaged in monitoring global and domestic issues affecting youth, members, and communities within the 100 BMOA's footprint. Actively participating in think-tank style dialogues with influential decision-makers from diverse industries, the Director devises innovative solutions and meticulously communicates findings to the chairs of the 100 BMOA standing committees, fostering buy-in and providing strategic guidance. With a commitment to excellence, integrity, and impactful execution, the Director designs and launches national programmatic initiatives that seamlessly translate to the chapter level, ensuring that donors, partners, and sponsors.

The Director of National Programs provides support to the Development Office as needed, assisting in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding both new and existing donors, as well as contributing to the grant submission process. Additionally, this role includes overseeing grant activations, sponsorships, and programmatic initiatives to ensure meticulous planning, execution, and reporting in compliance with local, state, and federal grant and regulatory requirements.

The Director of National Programs will also provide innovative thought leadership regarding the implementation of the programmatic initiatives offered to our chapter network that will enhance chapter impact. The Director of National Programs will need to work independently, as well as work closely with other team members to implement appropriate planning, execution, and reporting practices. In addition, The Director of National Programs will work closely with certain members of the board of directors and leverage technology to collect and document outcomes of programmatic initiatives.

It is expected that the number of programmatic initiatives offered by the 100 will increase in future years and The Director of National Programs must systematically and effectively strengthen the organization's ability to plan, implement, and report on said programming.

 

Job Description:

  • Spearheads innovative thought leadership and strategic direction to elevate the impact of existing programming, serving as a visionary leader within the organization.
  • Collaborates with and rallies support from the 100 BMOA standing committees to establish programmatic direction, refine implementation processes, and develop robust data tracking mechanisms, showcasing exceptional problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Provides dynamic leadership in crafting and implementing new programming initiatives aimed at expanding services, outreach, and outcomes for youth, families, and communities, demonstrating a strategic and forward-thinking approach.
  • Works closely with the organization's Development and fundraising team and leadership to cultivate, solicit, and steward both new and existing donors, exercising decisive decision-making and ensuring adherence to grant stipulations and financial obligations.
  • Partners with the Director of Chapter Member Services to deliver a comprehensive training and support framework for the chapter network, emphasizing collaborative problem-solving, effective data tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Coordinates seamlessly with Programs Department staff to execute, report on, and enhance sponsor activations, displaying strong project management skills and adept supervision.
  • Provides proactive leadership and supervision to the Programs Department staff, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Regularly monitors and reports on the progress of programmatic initiatives, processes, and systems, leveraging data-driven insights and strategic decision-making.
  • Develops, documents, and implements strategies, protocols, procedures, and timelines to optimize programmatic efficiency and effectiveness, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Harnesses technology to streamline documentation and data collection related to programmatic services, showcasing proficiency in leveraging tools for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Fully engages in departmental team coordination to drive forward the mission, organizational imperatives, and departmental goals of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc., leading by example and inspiring a collaborative team environment.
  • Manages the programmatic components of annual conferences and summits across departmental functions, collaborating effectively with team members and demonstrating exceptional leadership and organizational skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in nonprofit management, social work, education, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive nonprofit program management experience, including leadership roles at the Senior Director level.
  • Proven track record of visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and project management in nonprofit settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and mentor staff effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and emotional intelligence.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, program evaluation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, and grant management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, set priorities, and work well under pressure.
  • Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in articulating and implementing programmatic initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational, administrative, and management skills.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences, summits, and program execution.
  • Tangible experience in establishing programmatic initiatives and related reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, program evaluation, and outcomes reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc.

Preferred Education and Experience:

· Doctorate degree in a relevant field.

· Experience working with national youth programming

· Additional certifications or specialized training in nonprofit leadership, project management, or related areas.

· Experience in developing and implementing innovative programming initiatives aimed at expanding services and outcomes for diverse communities.

· Familiarity with technology platforms for program management, data tracking, and reporting.

· Previous experience managing programmatic components of large-scale events or conferences.

· Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to streamline documentation and data collection processes.

· Strong understanding of best practices in nonprofit program management and organizational development.

· Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in program design and implementation.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
