Coordinator of University Transfer & Initiatives
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of University Transfer & Initiatives, the Coordinator of University Transfer & Initiatives assists with providing leadership for the strategic vision of NOVA’s transfer partnerships. The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include, developing and maintaining transfer partnerships and initiatives, supporting the implementation of college-wide transfer programming, communicating transfer information to stakeholders, and assisting students with navigating the transfer process.
Duties and Tasks:
- Updates college-wide transfer information and resources both in print and on the website.
- Communicates regularly with students, NOVA stakeholders, and four-year partners regarding transfer updates and events.
- Assists the Director of University Transfer and Initiatives with the organization and delivery of transfer-related trainings for faculty and staff.
- Collaborates with campus transfer personnel to organize college-wide transfer events.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of transfer initiatives, partnerships, and activities.
- Reviews and maintains transfer agreements.
- Assists with elevated student concerns.
- Serves as a content expert for advisors, counselors, and faculty as they assist students with transfer planning.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

- Master’s degree in a field appropriately related to the position. Master’s degree must have been awarded by a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience working with community college transfer students.
- Experience with academic advising.
- Experience with event planning.
- Experience with higher education in Virginia.
