Job Description

Gogebic Community College seeks candidates for a full-time Marketing Strategist. The salary range for this position is $39,036-$53,750. The College offers a generous benefits package. This position reports to the Director of Admissions, Marketing and Community Relations. The Marketing Strategist performs activities in support of the college’s public information, marketing and communications functions. The incumbent must be skilled in graphic design, social media, digital, and print marketing. The Marketing Strategist is also responsible for in-person recruiting presentations to individuals and groups in a variety of settings. The position will require the candidate to be on campus and travel during recruitment season. A flexible remote work schedule is an option. It is important that there is recognition, acceptance, and adherence to the community college mission and philosophy from our candidate. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mentor and advise incoming Emergency Medical Service, Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Phase One Nursing Students. This includes developing degree plans, refer students seeking career advice or needing counseling, and advising those seeking to transfer to RN to BSN programs
• Provide graphic design of college materials with ap
• Manage GCC’s social media presence on popular social media sites, regularly posting relevant content and interacting with followers.
• Manage CMS from a marketing perspective, updating the college’s homepage and other high-priority pages to provide timely and relevant content to website visitors, especially prospective students
• Monitor content status of department and program webpages, collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure content is fresh, relevant and current. 
• Conduct recruitment visits to high schools, education fairs, and recruiting events in the region including Northern Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. 
• Manage a student engagement program with prospective students utilizing mail, electronic communication, phone and the student portal. 
• Assist with the organization of student recruitment and retention programs
• Other duties as assigned

Ability to:

• Recruit prospective students.
• Travel, including some overnight travel.
• Utilize Social Media (i.e. Instagram or Snapchat) for recruitment purposes and
• advertising.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Manage projects independently.
• Provide quality customer service

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Fluent in the use of technology, including graphic design, social media, and web
• content to conduct the job duties.
• Valid Driver’s License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use an automobile, a computer, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The
employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
and ability to adjust focus.

This position will include day travel and occasional overnight travel.

It will require the candidate to be on campus for events, special meetings, etc.
