Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Lavrov lab in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology at Iowa State University is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with experience and interest in mitochondrial biology. We have a number of projects focused on non-bilaterian animals (corals and sponges). Our projects combine approaches in cell and molecular biology with comparative genomic analysis. This is a great opportunity for a postdoc to lead and drive several of these projects.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in biology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mitochondrial biology
• Experience in evolutionary biology

• Experience in "omics"

• Knowledge of programming

• Interest in non-bilaterian animals

Proposed Start Date:
August 15, 2022

Proposed End Date or Length of Term:
September 30, 2023

12 Month Work Period
