PROGRAM COORDINATOR, LEAVES AND RETURNS, SPECIAL INITIATIVES, Student Support Services, to assist in supporting the academic success and personal growth of students. Characteristic responsibilities include overseeing the undergraduate return from leave process and coordinating support for returning students; advising students on personal and academic challenges, particularly students who need same-day assistance; referring students to appropriate campus resources; processing student requests for emergency financial and food resources; collaborating on a stress/mental health related orientation program; providing back up reception coverage for an administrative assistant; and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; one year of experience in higher education; interest in student support/wellness, human services, and supporting individuals in distress; ability to advise students and work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and students; support for MIT’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent judgment and discretion with confidential information; initiative, flexibility; ability to work with spreadsheets, databases, and web software and to generally navigate technology; and ability and desire to work in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
