POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), to join a project investigating ammonia production and utilization. Will work with MITEI research scientists Dr. Emre Gençer, Dr. Dharik Mallapragada, and Dr. Guiyan Zang. The project will develop Aspen models to simulate various ammonia production pathways and the utilization of ammonia for power generation. Will regularly present research results in meetings and workshops, prepare quarterly progress reports, and publish papers at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. The position will offer an opportunity to interact and work closely with researchers at MITEI’s Future Energy Systems Center.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a subject pertinent to the research area; expertise and a relevant track record in chemical process modeling, techno-economic assessment, life cycle assessment, and power plant and carbon capture process modeling; excellent communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize work to meet deadlines; and fluency in spoken and written English.
