Taubman Center Otolaryngology Ambulatory Care Unit
We are a University of Michigan Medicine Ambulatory Care Unit that is dedicated to providing the highest quality Otolaryngology health care services to our patients. Our clinic is located right at the Michigan Medicine Main Hospital and provides multidisciplinary care as it serves a diverse patient population. What skills will you master?
Medical Assistants in this clinic will gain a unique perspective learning the clinical aspects of our surgical specialties. We are excited to help you grow your skills. Not only will you provide clinic assistance by taking vital signs, helping patients, preparing specimens, utilize and maintain patient information in our electronic medical record, and instructing patients on procedures per provider’s written protocols. You will also set up and support complex procedures.

What will your work schedule look like?
The facility is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. We are flexible in scheduling, and request that you are also flexible in working various shifts.
This position may be filled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Physical Requirements
You will be required to do some moderate standing and walking, as well as lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients.
Training
As part of the orientation training process you will be shadowing and learning from the Medical Assistant Lead as well as specific content experts who make up the team to ensure a comprehensive training program.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
