Job Summary
The TRIO & PACE department receptionist will work primarily at the front desk of the TRIO & PACE department main office. The position is the first point of contact to TRIO & PACE programs.
Main day-to-day tasks are answering phones, taking messages, answering emails, greeting students, employers, and SLCC staff, helping students make appointments, and helping with minimal student supporting like showing students how to apply to TRIO SSS or STEM and referring students to departments and institutional resources. This role requires you to work with people, be detailed oriented, and possess great customer service.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Receives, greets and directs students to appropriate person or office.
2. Answers telephones, providing assistance and directing students to the correct person or office.
3. Processes and distributes mail.
4. Creates and maintains files.
5. Schedules appointments and arranges for meetings.
6. Answers questions about the organization and associated activities.
7. Assists with word processing, data entry and internet searches.
8. Maintains office equipment; arranges for service calls as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Be a current SLCC student and be awarded Work Study.
Work-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
