Job Summary

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Coordination & Scheduling:
- Request, coordinate, and schedule between 2,000 and 3,000 student placements which requires fitting multiple clinical and lab days into the students’ course schedule. Utilize a variety of different programs to assist in this process.
- Schedule and arrange for training and orientation for over 20 clinical instructors at all clinical locations. Coordinate, administrate, attend, and complete educational opportunities for clinical educators/instructors. Attend program advisory committee meetings to report on clinical education status, as requested.
- Develop, maintain, and foster relationships with partner institutions who accept student placements.
- Clinical Coordinator requires an understanding of Nursing Curriculum and familiarity with accreditation documents to ensure that students are placed at the clinical sites that best fit their clinical/curricular requirements and needs.
- Learn and utilize a variety of different computer applications to assist in this process.
- Vet clinical sites (assessments of current sites and recruitment of additional sites) and conduct site visits to obtain and coordinate clinical placements with facility education coordinators. Initiate affiliation agreements with potential clinical sites.
- Set up orientations at each facility as well as collect and submit necessary paperwork of each individual student for each location they are assigned each semester.
Compliance & Tracking:
- Monitor students’ compliance with immunizations, CPR, background checks, drug screens, and facility-specific requirements.
- Ensure that non-compliant students do not attend clinicals which requires communication with the student, clinical instructor, and the theory instructor.
- Track missed clinical/labs by students and work with the lab coordinator and facilities to arrange for the student to make-up the missed time.
- Track all lab/clinical Performance Plans to ensure that students complete the course work to pass the lab/clinical component of their course. Administer and tabulate applicable evaluations of students conducted by supervising clinical instructors for assessment purposes. Prepare documents/reports as required for the institution for accreditation requirements. Maintain all site records and student clinical records and assessments for reporting and accreditation requirements.
- Adapt and implement an automated system using Excel and Outlook integration procedure(s) that will monitor students’ compliance. The system tracks students’ receipt and comprehension of the email.
- Responsible for any audits requested by the partner facilities.
- Assist Program Coordinator with evaluating clinical instructor and nurse mentor/preceptor performance.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Respond to emails, texts, and phone calls from students, faculty, and hospital facilities within 24 business hours.
- Inform and have collegial collaborations with program faculty in any assessment review of clinical education objectives and educators.
- Collaborate with the Healing Arts Lab to ensure that student schedules include required lab time and does not conflict with clinical schedules.
- Attend department administrative meetings as required.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah.
Three (3) years general nursing experience.
Familiarity in compliance standards including but not limited to immunization requirements. Experience with the Complio database.
Knowledge of other programs including databases to support and assist with scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or (120) credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Four (4) to six (6) years related experience.
Trade off 2:1 in experience/education requirement.
Demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills.
This position is student-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements including Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe and willingness to learn other programs.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to create and foster working relations with Clinical Partners.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
