Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Under general supervision of Housekeeping Services Zone Supervisor, provides leadership necessary to accomplish the Housekeeping Team Cleaning Program responsibilities within approximately 250,000 GSF of campus buildings. Leads/supervises 5 to 10 Housekeepers, and performs a variety of Housekeeping utility tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years in housekeeping in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Preferences:
Four years in housekeeping in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Thorough understanding of the complete housekeeping Team Cleaning program assigned to his/her area. This includes all specialist tasks, staffing standards and priorities, team routes and schedules, equipment use and maintenance, and assigned responsibilities. This includes all project work including stripping and refinishing floors and specialty cleaning areas. Expert knowledge of campus housekeeping Team Cleaning methods, materials and equipment. Ability to read and write English. Ability to operate all powered custodial equipment.
HS Diploma or GED strongly desired
Additional Certifications:
Possess and maintain a Class C Driver’s license valid in the State of Maryland with less than 6 points.

Physical Demands
Daily routine includes continuous walking through buildings and up and down steps. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to operate all custodial equipment and train others in their safe operation.
Standard work hours are 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, but this position is considered that of an Essential employee, subject to a 24-hour day, seven-day week span of operation. The incumbent is required to come to work during emergencies which could include evenings and weekends, and when the campus may be closed due to inclement weather. Will be required to perform snow removal assistance when necessary. Will also be required to work overtime on occasion to support events at the facility.
