The Division of Chemical and Biological Science/Applied Mathematical & Computational Sciences is searching for a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate.
The postdoc will contribute to the DOE GAMESS Exascale Computing Project, in particular developing novel fragmentation methods that are firmly based in mathematics and will be implemented to take advantage of modern graphical processing unit architectures. The successful candidate will have broad experience with high-performance computing developments on heterogeneous architectures. The postdoc will collaborate with other members of the GAMESS ECP team, both at Ames and at the other contributing institutions, in order to accomplish established ECP milestones.
The successful applicant for the postdoctoral position must have demonstrable expertise in the development of mathematical models and novel algorithms that can take optimal advantage of the most modern heterogeneous computer architectures. Broad experience in Fortran, C++, and other programming languages is preferred.
(To meet the requirements of the Department of Energy's COVID-19 Workplace Safety and Reentry Framework, Ames National Laboratory is implementing a vaccine attestation program when the COVID-19 community level is medium or high, as determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). When the community level is medium or high, upon hire, all new employees must attest to their COVID-19 vaccination status, and those who are not fully vaccinated or who decline to report their status will undergo recurring COVID-19 testing. The Lab’s COVID Recovery team will monitor the COVID-19 community status level on a weekly basis and will communicate that status.
