Job Summary
Responsible for collecting morning mail and delivering processed mail to United States Post Office. Responsible for timely, accurate delivery of mail, campus mail and packages on Taylorsville Redwood Campus.
Responsible for timely, accurate processing of mail and/or packages.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive and transport all written communication and packages received by USPS and all campus mail to all departments on campus.
- Safeguard all resources against theft, lost or destruction.
- Operate a variety of delivery vehicles and adhere to strict campus driving guidelines.
- Maintain delivery vehicles and equipment in proper operating condition.
- Receive, sort and accurately/efficiently process incoming USPS mail/packages and inter campus mail.
- Process all College outgoing mail, including letters, flats, packages, overnight/express mail, bulk mailings, etc. to USPS.
- Assure College compliance with constantly changing federal and vendor regulations.
- Operate Postage meter, folder/inserter, and address printer machines.
- Receive, sort, and accurately/efficiently process incoming USPS mail and inter-departmental mail.
Preferred Qualifications
Delivery service experience.
Customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Must have valid Utah Drivers License.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- College policies and procedures.
- Equipment operation.
- Operate motorized vehicles safely in all weather conditions.
- Valid Utah Drivers License with a good driving record.
- Must pass background check.
- Customer service skills.
- Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Organize and manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
- Lift 40 lbs.
- Collect and analyze data.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Must be able to start shift between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
Must be able to work 4- 6 hours a day.
Special Instructions
SLCC work hours are between 8:00 – 4:30 Monday – Friday. Up to 30 hours a week and no more than 125 per month.
