Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Dean of
Salt Lake Technical College research, plan develop, implement, manage and evaluate needed aspects of the department programs. Identify and cultivate community, employer and industry relationships. Work closely with faculty, staff, administrators and industry to design and develop offerings consistent with specific needs. Collaborate with Academic Advising, Registration, and Registrar to ensure student enrollment is maintained. Establish student cohorts that serve the adult learner, who is also employed.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Research, plan, develop, implement and evaluate all aspects of SLTC programs.
- Identify and cultivate community, employer and industry relationships.
- Work closely with faculty, staff, administrators and industry to design and develop offerings consistent with technical education.
- Recruit and advise students.
- Schedule classes and instructors to meet student needs.
- Collaborate with Academic Advising, Registration, and Registrar to ensure student enrollment is maintained and degree completion follows.
- Responsible for contracts and negotiations related to partnerships.
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships relevant to the programs and act as primary point of contact.
- Oversee curriculum development.
- Create and manage appropriate contracts, according to College policy and procedures.
- Responsible for marketing activities, including program materials, website updates and outreach initiatives.
- Research, analyze and perform outreach tasks to inform community and business of programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Bachelors Degree preferred
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent (120 credit hours completed).
- Zero to three years direct, paid, full-time experience.
- Trade-offs considered on a 2:1 ratio for Experience/Education.
- For example: 1 year post high school education (30 credit hours) with six (6) years direct, paid, full-time work experience can be substituted for education requirement.
- Part-time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.

- Knowledge of College policies and procedures
- Knowledge of College instructional programs
- Knowledge of adult learning theory
- Knowledge of general accounting, budgetary and fiscal operations
- Knowledge of general program marketing strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to effectively engage business representatives and industry partners
- Ability to recruit, manage and supervise a staff and/or faculty
- Ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of people both internal and external to College
- Ability to build and manage joint programming between academic department and School of Applied Technology
- Ability to create, track and evaluate data
- Ability to conduct on-line research
- Ability to track expenditures and manage budgets
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Ability to innovate and problem solve
- Computer skills proficient to use programs such as: Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Banner
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
