Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) offers nearly 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs from nine Maryland public universities on one convenient campus in Montgomery County.USG helps prepare students for rewarding careers in the region’s most high-demand fields. Students who successfully complete their coursework on the USG campus graduate with a degree from one of its nine partner universities. Through on-campus services such as academic coaching, career advising, internship preparation, personal counseling, and leadership training, students leave the USG campus with the academic skills and real-world experiences needed for successful careers.
The Program Director, Business Engagement serves as a business engagement innovator, liaison, and ambassador at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG). This position has primary responsibility for facilitating and executing the strategic management of corporate partnerships locally and regionally to advance theUSGPromise. This position is a vital partner in the successful implementation of USG’s business and employer engagement strategy with its nine university partners and industry hubs.
The Program Director works in tandem with the Chief Advancement Officer, Executive Director, and other USG Executive Council members and university partners, or in some cases independently, to develop and support appropriate program concepts and strategies for partnerships that support student academics, work experiences, career readiness, and entry into careers following graduation. Employer engagement innovations are critical to academic program development and expansion, investment in pathways and pipelines to meet employment demand, and research related to the USG model and promise. The Program Director, Business Engagement works to build a team culture built on trust, collaboration, and performance; understanding both internal and external colleagues’ goals and identifying appropriate and innovative opportunities for support; ensuring diversity of experience and opportunity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree required.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of related experience required, 3 years of which include experience serving as a primary relationship manager for significant portfolio of trade associations or chambers related to various industries, or, 3 years of which include direct fundraising or donor relations experience.

- Skills in communication and presentations, both written and verbal
