Summary
OPEN (Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network) works with physicians, public health experts, policy makers, and payers to positively impact the opioid epidemic through improved prescribing and pain management. We aim to prevent opioid-related harms throughout the state and beyond through data-driven research, evidence-based pain management recommendations, development of education and resources for patients and providers, and community engagement. We are currently seeking a program manager to join our expanding team. The manager will partner with Michigan OPEN’s leadership, Program Coordinators, and Research Assistants (RA’s). The position is dedicated to managing the Program Management Team - overseeing multiple projects, grant management, and communications.

Responsibilities*
Responsible for contributing to the programmatic strategic direction for all of OPEN
- Decision-making regarding projects, programs and initiatives that support the objectives established by senior leadership, and ensures compliance with grant program protocols within OPEN.
- Decisions, work results and recommendations significantly impact others within OPEN
- Strategic organizational and initiative meetings to inform the content and direction of OPEN
- Strategize on grant proposals and upcoming grant changes.
Responsible for providing Grant Program Management expertise on behalf of OPEN
- Manage grant reporting for the full OPEN portfolio - Ensure OPEN is meeting federal, state, foundational, private payer and other stakeholder reporting requirements
- Assembling and submitting accurate and timely grant reports weekly, monthly quarter, annually.
- Consulting with OPEN leadership and across OPEN teams to determine timelines for deliverable reporting and actions needed to meet specific grant requirements.
- Continue developing, evaluating and implementing grant reporting systems to coordinate with appropriate staff and faculty for reporting work accomplished.
- Assist in grant development, submissions and amendments
- Assist in transition planning during project start-up and closure
Responsible for providing program leadership for all of OPEN
- Ongoing development and implementation of diverse hiring, appropriate training and orientation, and compliant off-boarding practices.
- Manage protocol writing and development, supervise data collection and verification, and project analysis, interpretation and presentation
- Lead formulation of research methods and suggest options for improving quality, identify potential problems, recommend and implement solutions
- Ensure project deliverables are met within the timeline and budget for current initiatives (Current initiatives include OPENs Pediatric, Dental, Partnership, and Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) Initiatives)
- Each initiative requires leading necessary meetings with internal and external stakeholders and guiding and advising across OPEN teams and departments to inform our website, messaging, materials, and education to patients, providers, and communities.
- Managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications related to various OPEN projects and initiatives
- Consulting across OPEN and other related teams and faculty to develop, complete, and maintain accurate IRB records and compliance and/or supervise direct reports in the completion and maintenance of applications
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree and considerable professional experience
- Prior management, supervisory and team leader experience
- Familiarity with grant reporting and OPENs portfolio of initiatives and stakeholders
