Summary of Position
The Advisor works individually with students to identify and apply for national fellowships, and assists the Director of National Fellowships to inform, recruit, and support fellowships applicants. They also assist in the management of the Hamel Scholars Program, which provides scholarships as well as leadership and networking programming for high-achieving students. The Advisor is part of the Honors College staff, but advises students from across the university.

UNH recently announced the formation of the Hamel Honors and Scholars College, which will offer expanded opportunities to the high-achieving students currently served by the University Honors Program. The Advisor for National Fellowships and the Hamel Scholars Program will be an important part of the Honors College team during this time of creative expansion. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, energetic collaborator who stands out for their ability to connect with students, design and execute programming, and shape polished and effective proposals and applications.

- Competency with and/or ability to learn productivity software

Work with the Director of National Fellowships to implement strategies for supporting applicants for national fellowships. Create and deliver informational programs, workshops, and courses about national fellowships. Maintain current knowledge about national fellowships and best practices for recruiting and advising. Develop strategies for attracting and supporting diverse applicants.

Work individually with students to create fellowship application plans and refine drafts. Convene faculty for review panels and mock interviews.
