Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Under general supervision from the Department Chair, the coordinator will provide support for laboratory courses. They will coordinate and facilitate the Principles of Animal Science Laboratory, laboratories for courses on Anatomy and Physiology, and other courses based on departmental need. They will also coordinate and maintain departmental common equipment in the ANSC Core Equipment Laboratories and facilitate their use. Occasional night and weekend work will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field. 

Experience:
3 years of experience working directly with production animals/livestock. Experience working in a laboratory setting with laboratory equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • A Master’s degree in Animal Science or a related discipline. 
  • Prior teaching experience is strongly desired. Experience managing budgets and supplies is helpful.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. This position requires outdoor work. Job duties may occur during very hot and cold and/or inclement weather. Working environment may include allergens (animals, dust, mold, grasses, etc.).
